ABOUT ME!

IMG_4520_edited_edited_edited_edited_edi

Originally from South Weber, Utah, Matthew is a NYC based actor who graduated from the University of Michigan with a B.F.A in Musical Theatre.

His passion for creating art has driven him beyond the stage and into photography, visual art, joining a rock band, composing original songs, writing screenplays, creating performance art, starting an improv troupe, and writing creative non-fiction for mental health journals

Matthew has appeared in theaters around

the country including Hale Centre Theatre, Shenandoah Summer Musical Theatre, and, most notability, the Minskoff Theatre where he was a national finalist in the 2014 Jimmy awards

This summer Matthew was  seen as Napthali in Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat Live at the Eccles, in Salt Lake City. He also stared as Jack Kelly in DISNEY'S NEWSIES at the beautiful Hale Center Theatre that Broadway World called "Gripping, Grounded, and Gritty!"

"Matthew Sanguine as Jack has a powerful voice reminiscent of Broadway's Jeremy Jordan and swagger like the film's Christian Bale.... It's a rare relief for a production like this to honor the roots of a beloved show while not being afraid to push the envelope to see it through new eyes "

-Broadway World (Ty Hinton)

Matthew has also been seen as Marius in Les Miserables, Fabrizio in THE LIGHT IN THE PIAZZA, Benny Southstreet in GUYS & DOLLS, and Jim Hawkins in Ken Ludwigs TREASURE ISLAND, that Broadway World  called "Exhilaratingly Epic and Emotional!"

"Matthew Sanguine brings innocence and determination to the role, cementing a poignant relationship with the enigmatic Long John Silver"

-Broadway World
